This Keychron K8 QMK Keyboard With Hot-Swappable Switches Is on Sale for Under $85 Right Now
We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication. Mechanical keyboard fans tend to know exactly what they want. Some want a compact layout that still keeps the arrow keys, while others want lag-free wireless support or the ability to swap switches without a soldering iron. The Keychron K8 QMK Wireless Mechanical Keyboard checks most of those boxes, and it's currently on sale on StackSocial. The ABS-frame version with RGB backlighting and hot-swappable Banana switches is $79.99, while the aluminum-frame models with Banana or Brown switches are $82.99. All three use the same 80% layout (which means you get 87 keys with arrow keys included, but no number pad), an ANSI configuration, and double-shot PBT plastic keycaps, so the letters won’t rub off easily and the surface resists shine over time. In daily use, the K8 feels built for people who move between devices. It connects over Bluetooth 5.2 to up to three devices and switches between them with a shortcut, so you can jump from a laptop to a tablet without re-pairing. There is also a wired USB-C mode with a 1,000Hz polling rate, compared to 90Hz over Bluetooth (which is fine for typing and general work). Gamers will likely prefer wired mode for faster response times. You also get 22 RGB presets if you like colorful setups, but you can turn them off entirely. Its 4,000mAh battery is rated for up to 190 hours with the backlight off, or about 100 hours with the RGB lights on low. The real appeal here is customization. The keyboard supports QMK, which is an open-source software that lets you remap keys and create shortcuts. You can also use Keychron’s web app to make changes without digging into code. The switches are hot-swappable, so if you later decide you prefer a different feel, you can pull them out and replace them without soldering. The included Keychron Super switches are rated for 50 million presses, so they’re built to last. The aluminum version feels sturdier and adds some internal foam for a deeper typing sound, while the ABS version keeps the price lower. This is a great option for someone who wants a reliable wireless mechanical keyboard with room to experiment. If you're just dipping your toe in, this is a great starter, but gear this cheap has downsides. If you're ready to step up, read on. A mid-range podcasting bundleMAONO AU-AM200-S1 bundle: This is a significant jump in quality from the option above, but it still comes in at under $100 during Amazon's sale. It's $94.98, down from $128.53. Unlike ultra-budget kits, this mixer features a two-level noise reduction chip for killing hum, and it's Bluetooth compatible so you can pipe in music or a guest without plugging cables in. A higher-end podcasting optionSquarockTek Podcast Bundle for 2: If you want to sound professional right from the jump, this higher-end choice is on sale for $254.99 (originally $299.99) and features XLR/USB hybrid condenser mics. These OneOdio Wired Over-Ear Headphones are a perfect solution. On sale for $27.99, they are more than adequate for hearing if the levels are peaking, and they come with a cord that connects to both the 3.5mm jack on your laptop and the 6.35mm jack on your mixer. USB HubYou're going to need more ports. Something like this Powered USB Hub 3.0 on sale for $22.09. The key is the "powered" part to make sure the juice flows steadily and isn't sucking your laptop's battery. Backup storageThis might be overkill, but if you're recording on-the-fly, the audio files can be large enough that you might want to make sure you can store them outside of your phone. Here's a terabyte of external storage for $127.49. Cables and cable managementYou'll need cables. If you’re sticking with a 3.5mm setup (like with the ALSO GO or MAONO kits) you might want to upgrade the cables that come with them to something gold-plated to avoid corrosion. These 3.5mm cords are a little more than 5 bucks. Don't forget the cable management, either. These velcro cable ties might be the best $13.59 you'll ever spend. The bottom line: How much does it cost to start your podcast? You could record a (very amateur sounding) podcast on your phone for free, but we're not animals, so here are the cost breakdowns for three levels of podcasting. You Can Equip a Complete Home Gym for $1,300 During the Amazon Spring Sale
We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication. Building my garage gym is one of the best investments I’ve ever made. No matter the weather, or the traffic, or how much time I have available on a given day, I know I can always get to the gym (my gym) and get a workout in. If you’ve been thinking of setting up your own home gym, the Amazon Big Spring Sale is a good time to start buying the essential pieces. Here are my picks for what I’d get if I were just starting out. Some notes before I dive in: Everybody’s needs will be different, so feel free to skip any items that don’t fit the way you like to work out. Still, I’m going to assume that you’ll want the equipment to do barbell lifts, work out with dumbbells and/or kettlebells, and to do some kind of cardio. I’ll start with small, versatile items, move on to bigger purchases, and finish up the list with a few optional little nice-to-haves. In total, the core items add up to $1,301. That's $210 for a set of adjustable dumbbells, $65 for a weight bench, $312 for a starter barbell set with bumper plates, $300 for a Titan squat rack (plus $114 for safeties), and $300 for an entry-level spin bike. You can even add another pair of 45-pound bumpers and a few accessories and still stay under $1,500 for the whole shebang. The best Big Spring Sale deals on dumbbellsEvery home gym can use dumbbells, so let’s start there. You’ll have to decide whether you want to go with adjustable dumbbells or buy the regular (“fixed”) type. Fixed dumbbells can be a bigger investment over time, but you can easily get started with a few pairs and add to your collection as your budget allows. Fixed dumbbells are also more durable since they don’t have moving parts, and they’re more convenient if you have the space. This $160 set has dumbbells from 5 to 25 pounds, and comes with a rack to hold them. Add heavier pairs to your collection as you’re able. But if I can only pick one thing, I'll go with adjustable dumbbells. Adjustables can be pricier than buying a few starter pairs of dumbbells, but are generally cheaper than buying an entire set of the fixed dumbbells that they replace. The Powerblock Elite EXP are a popular option on sale right now for $339.15, and they go up to 50 pounds. You can also get expansion sets to take them up to 70 or even 90 pounds. For a budget pick, these CAP adjustables are only $209 for a pair, and they also go from 10 to 55 pounds. CAP Barbell Adjustabell 12.5-55lb Adjustable Dumbbell (Pair) $209.99 at Amazon $299.99 Save $90.00 Get Deal Get Deal $209.99 at Amazon $299.99 Save $90.00 The best Big Spring Sale deal on a weight benchIf you like to do bench press or incline presses, a good bench is going to be one of your core home gym purchases. Look for one with a large weight limit (remember, it has to support you and whatever you’re lifting) that can adjust between flat and inclined positions. This bench from NICEPEOPLE fits the description. NICEPEOPLE Basic Weight Bench $64.59 at Amazon $75.99 Save $11.40 Get Deal Get Deal $64.59 at Amazon $75.99 Save $11.40 The best Big Spring Sale deal on a barbell and platesIf you’re happy only lifting dumbbells, skip this section and just fill out your dumbbell collection. But if you want to deadlift, power clean, or do other barbell exercises, it’s worth getting a bar and plates. (For squats and bench presses, you’ll want a rack, which I’ll cover in the next section.) You have a decision here: iron plates or bumpers? Bumper plates are made of (and/or coated in) rubber, the better to harmlessly bounce when they hit the ground. They’re a little quieter for deadlifts, and are essential if you’ll be doing Olympic lifts. They also allow you to bail from squats without needing safety bars on your rack, so long as you’re familiar with how to do that without risking injury. This set includes a barbell (standard, Olympic-sized, with 2-inch sleeves) plus enough bumper plates to get you up to a 260-pound total—all for $312. Fill out your collection with more 45-pound plates like these for $53 each. Fitvids Olympic Bumper Weight Plates 260 LB Set $311.66 at Amazon $366.66 Save $55.00 Get Deal Get Deal $311.66 at Amazon $366.66 Save $55.00 The best Big Spring Sale deals on squat stands or a rackTo do squats or bench presses, you’ll want something to rest the bar on. A sturdy squat rack is the centerpiece of most serious home gyms, but you still have plenty of options as to what kind to get. I would avoid most cheap squat racks you find on places like Amazon, since you can’t install safety bars (to lower the weight onto if you fail a lift). A safety-less squat stand is fine if you’re bailing squats with bumper plates and always doing your bench presses with a spotter (that is, a person who stands by to help if you fail). If you’re fine with those precautions, you can skip the safety bars. That said, many of those cheap racks will advertise some kind of “spotter arm” that turns out to be basically useless for that purpose, and these racks don’t generally take standard sizes of spotter arms, so I would make sure to buy a type of rack or squat stand that can take a real set of safeties or spotter arms. Among the items on sale right now, my budget pick would be the Titan T-3 squat stand, which is $300 for the 72-inch version (great for garages with low ceilings). The spotter arms are also on sale right now, for $114 a pair. Titan Fitness Squat Stand $300.97 at Amazon $324.99 Save $24.02 Get Deal Get Deal $300.97 at Amazon $324.99 Save $24.02 The best Big Spring Sale deal on a cardio machineNow that the main strength training equipment is taken care of, we need to make sure we’re doing something for our cardiovascular system. You can always put on a pair of running shoes and go for a jog, but the whole point of a home gym is to be able to get your workout in without leaving the house—so let’s add a machine. The best type of machine is going to depend on your preferences. Some people love a rower but can’t stand a treadmill, or vice versa. Pick what works for you, but I’m going to recommend a spin bike. A good bike is cheaper than a good treadmill, and takes up less space. It’s more convenient than a rower, not least because you can more easily scroll your phone or watch videos during a workout—which means you’re more likely to actually get on the bike rather than skipping that part of the workout. (Just me?) My pick here is this $300 Yosuda Pro spin bike with a 35-pound flywheel and 350-pound weight limit. It’s sturdier and more adjustable than the cheaper bikes out there, but still a good value for the money. Yosuda Pro Exercise Bike $299.95 at Amazon $399.99 Save $100.04 Get Deal Get Deal $299.95 at Amazon $399.99 Save $100.04 The best Big Spring Sale deals on mats and other extrasWith all the items listed above, you’ll have the essential items for a home gym, at a cost of just about $1,300. I’d add some horse stall mats to add some cusion to and protect your floors (buy them in person from your local Tractor Supply) and a selection of smaller accessory items, according to your needs. Here are some good deals on the latter: Kettlebells: Try this 35-pound cast iron bell for $32 Yoga mats: Here’s a one-inch-thick mat for $29.99 Pull-up bar: Here’s a doorway model (no screws) for $27.98 Ab roller: This set has a roller, knee pads, push-up handles, and a set of resistance bands for $22.98 Our Best Editor-Vetted Amazon Big Spring Sale Deals Right Now Apple AirPods Pro 3 Noise Cancelling Heart Rate Wireless Earbuds — $199.00 (List Price $249.00) Apple iPad 11" 128GB A16 WiFi Tablet (Blue, 2025) — $299.00 (List Price $349.00) Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ 128GB Wi-Fi 11" Tablet (Gray) — $202.00 (List Price $249.99) Sony WH1000XM6- Best Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones — $398.00 (List Price $459.99) Apple Watch Series 11 (GPS, 42mm, S/M Black Sport Band) — $299.00 (List Price $399.00) Blink Video Doorbell Wireless (Newest Model) + Sync Module Core — $35.99 (List Price $69.99) Fire TV Stick 4K Max Streaming Player With Remote — $34.99 (List Price $59.99) Amazon Kindle Colorsoft 16GB 7" eReader (Black) — $169.99 (List Price $249.99) Deals are selected by our commerce team View the full article

Study finds asking AI for advice could be making you a worse person
Whether we like it or not, AI has infiltrated the workplace and employees are under pressure to use it. However, according to a new study, you may want to skip asking AI to help you manage matters of the heart. The two-part study, titled “Sycophantic AI decreases prosocial intentions and promotes dependence” was recently published in Science. The experiment made the case that using chatbots for personal advice and navigating emotional situations can be harmful because because the system is designed to tell people what they want to hear. Using chatbots may reinforce troubling behavior rather than help people take accountability for harm and apologize. A recent Cognitive FX poll found about 38% of Americans report using AI chatbots weekly for emotional support, while a recent Pew Research study found that 12% of teens use AI for advice. According to a KFF poll, a lack of insurance also drives usage, too, with uninsured adults being more likely than those with insurance to use it (30% vs. 14%). For the latest study, researchers looked at how prevalent sycophancy, which is defined as “the tendency of AI-based large language models to excessively agree with, flatter, or validate users” across 11 leading AI models including GPT-4o, Claude, and Google’s Gemini. The researchers conducted three experiments with 2,405 participants. In the first study, the researchers gave the AI a series of questions asking for advice, posts from reddit’s Am I the Asshole (AITA) forum, and a series of descriptions about wanting to harm other people or one’s self, and compared how the AI responded to human judgements. Overall, the models were 49% more likely than a human on average to endorse a user’s actions, even if they were harmful or illegal. In the second study, participants imagined they were in a scenario described by an AITA post, where their actions had been judged as wrong. Then they read either a reply written by a human saying they were in the wrong, or a reply written by an AI saying they were in the right. In the third study, participants discussed a real conflict in their lives with an AI or a human. Worryingly, participants both trusted and preferred responses from sycophantic AI that affirmed their actions. They also became more convinced that they were correct in their original actions, essentially reaffirming beliefs they already held, rather than being challenged by the chatbot to think differently about the situation. The study noted that having their beliefs reaffirmed meant they were less likely to apologize after talking to the chatbot. “In our human experiments, even a single interaction with sycophantic AI reduced participants’ willingness to take responsibility and repair interpersonal conflicts, while increasing their own conviction that they were right,” the study explained. While taking advice from AI isn’t new, the study showcases just how harmful it can be. As social media’s algorithms drive engagement by enraging users, AI is chipping away at our ability to apologize and take accountability for hurting someone. As the study’s authors noted, that means, “The very feature that causes harm also drives engagement.” View the full article

How marketing leaders at Clinique and ScottsMiracle-Gro are meeting consumers where they are online—and in AI
It might not seem like the maker of lawn and garden products and a skincare and cosmetics company have much in common. But both ScottsMiracle-Gro and Clinique have recognized that people are likely to seek out advice online these days, which is why they’re meeting consumers where they are with educational resources. “We’re using a lot of agentic AI to help people in any given market,” said John Sass, senior vice president and chief creative officer at ScottsMiracle-Gro, speaking at the Fast Company Grill at SXSW. “We have 158 years of experience; we can help you learn how to grow, whether you’re in Miami or Austin or Columbus, Ohio.” Recognizing this opportunity for ScottsMiracle-Gro to do what it’s always done—help people to enjoy their outdoor spaces and gardens—marks one of the company’s biggest evolutions in recent years, Sass said. As a dermatologist-founded beauty brand, Clinique has also put more emphasis on educating people about things it’s done as a matter of course since 1968, like allergy testing, added Christie Sclater, the company’s senior vice president of global marketing. “We are trying to show up with education in all the places that people are looking today,” Sclater said. How the brands evolve Always listening to their customers has also helped Clinique to evolve while staying true to its founding vision, Sclater said: “A big part of what we’ve been doing over the last couple of years is to say, how do we take that true vision—which you can never erase and is frankly our greatest strength—and allow that to propel us into the future as opposed to be anchored in the past?” Whether it’s upgrading products that have been best sellers for decades, or taking some risks that mean doing things differently, both Sass and Sclater emphasized the importance of listening to what their customers want. “You can’t have your head in the sand,” Sass said. “You have to be thinking and listening to what trends are out there.” View the full article

There are more women in the workforce than men—again
For decades, there was a stubborn gender gap in employment, even as women grew more and more educated. Thirty-odd years ago, men still held 7 million more jobs—despite the fact that women were already earning college degrees at higher rates than their male counterparts. But by 2020, there was a turning point, and women outpaced men on non-farm payrolls by 109,000 jobs, which meant that they accounted for over 50% of the workforce. Then the pandemic happened. In the years since, women have slowly regained their foothold in the labor force, although working mothers in particular have faced an uphill battle between strict in-office policies and ballooning childcare costs. As of February, however, women have overtaken men in the workforce yet again. A report from Indeed’s Hiring Lab last week highlighted that the gap has closed, driven in large part by job growth in sectors that are dominated by women. Between February 2024 and February 2026, the U.S. economy added 1.2 million jobs. A significant portion of this growth—over 814,000 jobs—was on account of women, and across sectors like healthcare that tend to draw more female workers. Even in a sluggish job market, healthcare is one of the few industries that has continued adding jobs and helped keep the economy afloat. In fact, over the last year, significant job growth in healthcare has offset losses across the rest of the workforce: The U.S. economy added a total of 156,000 jobs overall, due to 375,000 new healthcare jobs. This pattern is even clearer over the past year: The share of jobs held by women has increased by nearly 300,000 since February 2025, while men saw an overall drop in employment of 142,000 jobs. It seems this uptick in women’s labor force participation reflects a broader shift that was already underway, before it was derailed by the pandemic. But as Indeed notes, the gender gap isn’t closing because record numbers of women are entering the workforce. The real driver of this change is a notable decline in men’s labor force participation, as employment has dropped in sectors that have historically been dominated by men, such as manufacturing and construction. It’s also clear, from recent data, that women’s employment is not exactly secure: In the first half of 2025, about 212,000 women left the workforce. There was also a noticeable dip in employment for certain women, according to an analysis by The Washington Post, which found that the number of working mothers between the ages of 25 and 44 dropped by nearly three percentage points between January and June of last year. With the rapid adoption of generative AI, new forces threaten to undermine labor force participation for all workers, just as men are facing other headwinds in the job market. And while there may be new opportunities available to women in the workforce, the very issues that have long limited their career growth—from pay inequities to caregiving responsibilities—still loom large, even as the economy continues to rely on their labor. Here are the deals I'm seeing right now: Beats Solo 4 $119.99 at Amazon $199.95 Save $79.96 Get Deal Get Deal $119.99 at Amazon $199.95 Save $79.96 Beats Studio Pro $159.99 at Amazon $246.62 Save $86.63 Get Deal Get Deal $159.99 at Amazon $246.62 Save $86.63 Beats Powerbeats Fit $169.95 at Amazon $199.99 Save $30.04 Get Deal Get Deal $169.95 at Amazon $199.99 Save $30.04 Beats Studio Buds $99.95 at Amazon $169.95 Save $70.00 Get Deal Get Deal $99.95 at Amazon $169.95 Save $70.00 Beats Pill x Kim Kardashian $68.99 at Amazon $89.00 Save $20.01 Get Deal Get Deal $68.99 at Amazon $89.00 Save $20.01 SEE 2 MORE Beats Solo 4Beats Solo 4 are the company's flagship "on-ear" headphones. As the name implies, these headphones don't cover your ears; rather, they sit on top of them. It's a different kind of fit if you're used to over-the-ear headphones, but it's a bit of an iconic design for the company. Beats says these headphones can run for up to 50 hours on a single charge, and support fast charging: You can plug in a dead pair of Solo 4 for 10 minutes to get up to five hours of playback. During Amazon's Big Spring Sale, you can take 40% off the list price, bringing these from $199.95 to $119.99. Beats Studio ProIf you're looking for a more "traditional" headphones experience, you may want to check out the Beats Studio Pro. These are "over-the-ear" headphones, which, as you might expect for a device like this, support active noise cancellation. You can also turn on transparency mode, which pumps in external sounds. That way, you don't have to take off your headphones in order to hear what's going on around you. Beats says these headphones can run up to 40 hours on a single charge, and the 10-minute fast charge gets you up to four hours of runtime. These extra features do cost a bit more than the Solo 4, but not but a ton given the discounts. During the sale, you can take 35% off the Studio Pro, which brings the cost down from $246.62 to $159.99. Beats Studio BudsBeats Studio Buds are a good AirPods alternative. If you want an earbud that has adjustable silicone tips and noise cancellation, but don't want to spend $249 to get them, the Buds are way cheaper—especially during this sale. Beats says the Studio Buds can run for up to 36 hours when you take the charging case into consideration. You can charge the buds for five minutes to give you up to one hour of playback. Right now, they're 41% off, down from $169.95 to $99.95. Beats Powerbeats FitIf you want something a bit more feature-filled, especially when it comes to working out, the Powerbeats Fit might be worth considering. These earbuds have winged tips which are intended to help keep the Powerbeats Fit in your ears. That way, when you're running or working out at the gym, the earbuds are less likely to fall out. These also have noice cancellation, and are IPX4 rated for sweat and water resistance. Beats says you get up to 30 hours of battery life with the charging case, and up to seven hours per bud on a single charge. When quick charging, you can get up to one hour of playback from a five-minute charge. These are currently 15% off, down from $199.99 to $169.95. Beats Pill x Kim KardashianThe only non-headphone Beats deal happening during Amazon's Big Spring Sale is the Kim Kardashian Beats Pill. There’s nothing technically different about this Kim Kardashian Beats Pill when compared to the standard Beats Pill. The collab is really about the color: “Kim’s modern, grayscale tones” according to Beats. If you already have a Beats Pill, you aren’t missing anything. This speaker is renewed, so it isn't brand new, but Amazon says all renewed items are "compatible and fully functional." Regardless, this Beats Pill still has the same features it would have new: It's IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, and runs for up to 24 hours on a single charge. You can also plug it directly into a laptop via USB-C to play lossless audio. It's currently 22% off its list price of $89, running for $68.99. HP Unveils AI-Driven Workforce Insights to Revolutionize IT Management
At HP Imagine 2026, new advancements to the Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) have the potential to reshape how small businesses manage their IT environments. With enhancements powered by artificial intelligence (AI), these features not only promise to streamline operations but also to improve employee productivity and sustainability—key concerns for any small business owner. As companies increasingly navigate complex digital ecosystems, the pressure on IT teams intensifies. The latest updates to WXP aim to alleviate this burden by providing crucial data-driven insights. Small business owners can benefit from the platform’s ability to predict and rectify potential issues before they cause significant disruptions, saving time and resources. HP’s focus on enhancing operational efficiency is evident in the introduction of Enhanced AI Remediation. This feature enables IT teams to automatically detect and resolve incidents with minimal manual intervention. “WXP helps organizations resolve incidents with fewer manual steps,” an HP representative noted. By automating responses and presenting prioritized remediation paths alongside alerts, businesses can shift from a reactive to a proactive IT operation. This transition allows for quicker resolutions and helps prevent recurring issues, ultimately enhancing overall employee experience. Another significant update is the Custom Data Reports feature. This allows small businesses to create tailored reports from various device and application signals. By leveraging customizable telemetry data, owners can identify specific pain points—whether that’s high memory usage or outdated software. This granular view enables more informed decisions regarding IT resource allocation and investment. “An insights-led device refresh approach helps organizations improve employee experience,” the representative explained, emphasizing the potential for longer device lifespans and reduced unnecessary costs. Sustainability is also a core focus of the latest WXP enhancements. The new Carbon Footprint Report offers businesses transparent insights into power consumption and estimated carbon emissions. As sustainability becomes a central concern for consumers, small business owners can leverage these insights to balance performance, cost, and environmental impact. By integrating sustainability into their operations, businesses not only improve their ecological footprint but may also enhance their brand reputation. Another practical feature introduced is the Pulse Notifications for Microsoft Teams. This allows IT and HR teams to collaborate more effectively by sending relevant updates directly within tools employees are already using. By prompting light corrective actions—like removing unused software—businesses can reclaim resources, ultimately fostering a more productive work environment. “By meeting employees where work happens, organizations can improve engagement,” said the HP representative, highlighting the value of effective communication in enhancing productivity and trust. HP has also included a security feature with the Wolf Protect and Trace API. This enables IT teams to locate, lock, and erase computers even if they are turned off, introducing significant opportunities for improved asset security. Small business owners can easily integrate these controls into their existing workflows, simplifying incident response and reducing the workload on IT personnel. While these advancements present numerous opportunities for enhancing efficiency and security, small business owners should also consider potential challenges. The reliance on increased automation may require staff retraining to manage new processes effectively. Additionally, the investment in these advanced tools could be significant, making it essential for businesses to weigh the potential ROI based on their unique operational needs. HP’s latest WXP updates offer small business owners a wealth of innovative resources to optimize their IT operations while enhancing employee experience and sustainability efforts. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, integrating these capabilities could be pivotal in staying competitive.
