Amazon Prime members in the US can regularly save on gas, but many might not even know it. Now might be the best time to jump on it—for a limited time only, fuel savings can double.

The savings perk dates back to October 2024, when Amazon partnered with, BP’s rewards and fueling app earnify, allowing Prime members save 10 cents a gallon. Now, from April 3 to May 29, members can double the savings once a week on Fuel-Up Fridays.

To start saving, Amazon Prime members need to activate the perk and must link their accounts to earnify. Then, members can find the 7,500 participating BP, Amoco, Thorntons, and AM/PM gas stations and fuel up there.

“You can then apply the discount at any participating station by simply entering your phone number at the pump or using the earnify app,” the Amazon Prime website explains.

Prime members registered with earnify are always eligible for savings. When registered to earnify, which is free, members receive a baseline saving of 5 cents, which is then stacked with 5 cents for being a Prime member, totaling 10 cents in savings for every gallon of gas purchased at participating gas stations.

According to the company, members using the perk can save up to $70 a year on fuel costs thanks to the promotion.

During the promotional period, Prime members will be able to stack an additional 10 cents per gallon, totaling 20 cents off per gallon.

While the promotional offer only applies to one purchase on Fridays, the gas discount can be shared with an additional person over 18 by setting up an Amazon Family account. This allows up to two cars to be filled up at a discount during the promotional period.

“That means that households can save a combined $0.40 per gallon across two fuel transactions made each Friday, helping families stretch their budgets even further,” Vice President of Amazon Prime Jamil Ghani said in a blogpost about the offer.

Fuel-Up Friday is not Amazon’s first promotional fuel savings event. Last year, Amazon rolled out another 20 cent per gallon promotion for a limited time in June.
