A lot of nomads we speak to on the podcast have sold all their stuff, quit their jobs and left their home countries to travel indefinitely. But it doesn't have to be such a big change.

Mary Regel decided to take a 1 year sabbatical from her job in Germany to travel and get fluent at speaking Spanish. She picked up some freelance work on the way, to make sure she could afford to do a lot of activities and take language classes.

In this episode, Kendra and Mary talk about finding friends in a new country, starting new hobbies, connecting with locals, and the challenges Mary faced in her year-long sabbatical.
